I’m not entirely sure what led me to revisit Geocaching.com but I did so last night. After spending a couple hours reading through the posts and figuring out the layout of the site I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve wanted to do so for several years now, but for some reason I’ve just never gone ahead with it, but today did.
After spending several hours searching for the cable for my GPS, I was able to upload the coordinates for a cache entitled Our Sign by CarolinaEddie. Driving to the park, getting all the equipment in order, and trudging through the woods for awhile, I ended up close to where the GPS told me the cache would be. The only problem was, it told me it was 50 feet away, in someone’s back yard. As the yard was surrounded by a fence, I was highly doubtful of the veracity of the information.
After backtracking and taking different routes (as if the results would be different), it consistently told me it was in that back yard. Doubting that this was the case, I gave up, trudged back out, and came home. Checking the settings showed that everything should be correct, but certainly that wasn’t the case. Oh well, one strike for me.
