Finally, after much waiting, there is finally a decent blogging client for Linux. Up to this point, I’ve been using the web interface to MovableType to enter posts… No more, now I can use BloGTK instead. Written in Python, it should be fairly easy to get running on most platforms (if you have the right packages installed). I had to install a few more on my newly installed SuSE 9.0 system.
As this is my first post using this app, I really can’t offer too much more feedback, but some things I noticed while compiling this post:
- The categories list for the post should (IMHO) be sorted alphabetically
- When entering a link, I would like to be able to enter the link text, in addition to the current ability to enter the URL and the link target
- I’ll have to check the docs to confirm the feature isn’t already present, but it would be nice if there were keyboard shortcuts for entering links (^L), images, etc.
