Picked up my new Nextel iM1100 wireless (pcmcia) modem this afternoon. After bringing it home and trying to follow the included (outdated) directions, I finally got it up and running.
After launching the connection applet, I successfully connected to the Nextel network. Unfortunately, I couldn’t reach any websites. After playing with some things, I determined that I had DNS resolution, but it appeared I did not have routing out to the Internet.
A not-so-quick call to tech support and we determined that I had the wrong plan. The plan I had only allows you to connect to your ISP?! So they make the changes, and I am then told that it will take 24 hours for the computer to provision my setup!
So, the waiting continues…
